Drumming

We have been breaking words down into syllables by clapping and other fun ways. Ask us to try out other words at home.  We are learning lots about rythems. We were very good with all the different beats the drummer man tried out with us today. 

A visit from the firefighters

We learned all about the very important job of the Galway Firefighters

The bird man

We have two new teachers with us for the next 2 weeks.  They are teaching us all of our lessons.  Their names are Ms Flynn and Ms Divilly. 

We were also really lucky to have Tom the bird man come and show us lots of birds. We even did some of our very own bird watching.

Birthdays

This week we had four children celebrate their 5th birthday. Dara's mammy brought a delicious birthday cake to school on Friday. Everyone loved the tasty treat.

X's and O's

We use lots of different games to practice our reading.  Here the children attempt to get three in a row. They identify a word and then write their x or o over it. Teacher was extremely impressed at how strategic some of the children were.
