Egg Hunt

We had great fun on our easter egg hunt around the school. 

They were hidden quite well so we had to look really carefully under leafs, grass and trees. 

Na Trí Mhuc

Beidh drama ar siúl ar an 7ú lá i mí Feabhra sa Seanscoil Sailearna Connemara.  Bíonn na paistí ag clacthadh go dian agus tá siad ar fheabhas.  Táimid ag dheanamh alán obair bunaithe ar na Trí Mhuc.  Tá suil agam go bhainfidh na páistí alán taitneamh as an dhrama.

The drama is on in Connemara on the 7th of February.  The children are practicing really hard and are fantastic.  We are doing alot of lovely things about the three little pigs (have a look at our art).  I hope the children enjoy the experience of being on stage and using their well learned Irish.  

The fox

We learned all about the fox.
Some facts we can tell you;
Male fox - dog fox
Femal fox - vixen
Baby - cubs.
The foxes home is called a den. 
The fox eats rabbits, frogs, chickens, mice.  We think the gingerbread man had a close escape from the fox!!!

Day and Night

We discussed the difference between day and night.   We talked about why we only do certain things during the  and the reasons we dont do alot of things after dark.  

We learned the world spins on it axis and turns once to make day time and night time.  We had a sun the earth and a moon.  When the part of the earth was looking at the sun, and the sun's light was shining on the earth it is day time and the part of the world the sun can not see is in darkness, it is night time.  Some of the earth has day time and some of the earth has night time.  We learned when it is day time in Ireland, it is night time the other side of the world in Australia.   

Listening

We've been learning about our senses and we know that some people in the world can not hear or see.  Using blind fold we examined how we use each sense.  We took turns with a partner, one was the leader and the other the listener.  The partner carefully guided their friend our obstacle course using their listening skills. 

Go fish

We started to play go fish.  We each take turns and turning a fish over, we count the dots on the fish and match it to the number in the bowl.  If we dont have that number we keep fishing until we fill the bowl with fish.  e are getting very good at taking turns and helping each other in a nice way without getting angry if someone forgets how to play. 

Yoga

We love practicing yoga in PE.  We enjoy some relaxing and meditiating, stretching and learning new yoga poses.  Today we learned the tree pose.
