Absorption patterns
Last we talked about absorption, things that take in water. We also talked about things that keep water out. Teacher helped us fold tissue paper into a neat square. We put food dye into water and then watched the tissue paper soak up the water. It made a fantastic pattern!
Word puddles
We are having great fun learning our words. So far we have learned Molly, Jack, Lucy, Sam, monster and clown. In this game u have to call the word before u land on the Lilly pad, we have to be careful not to land in the water all around the words.
Old Toys
We talked about the toys we all played with as babies.
Then we talked about old toys! We talked about toys that have been around for a long time and new toys. We played a detective game. we looked at clues and had to think really hard about what toy was hidden behind the box. We looked at how some toys have changed through the years. We made a wonderful teddy bear timeline.

H says "h" as in Hedgehog
This week we are doing the letter H. We look for lots of things around the room that start with the letter. We spotted the fantastic hedgehogs we had made.

Learning about frogs
Today a scientist named Diogo from Portugal. All the children in room 2 decided his name was Frog Man and continuously addressed him as this. Diogo loved this name.
He thought us about frogs in Connemara. We watched some short and interesting videos about frogs. In between these videos Diego played some fantastic games! We learned about the food chain and of the importance of keeping the ponds litter free. We had a recycled paper airplane flying competition. We watched a frog jump high up in the air. We thought it looked very like our fizzy rockets. We loved it all and a big thank you to "Frog Man"

Dancing Raisins
With all our talk about body fu and rocket fuel, we looked at the effect carbonated gas had on raisins. When we put raisins in water they sank to the bottom. When we put raisins in fizzy cola they danced up and down and then stated at the top of the glass. We learned that the fizzy gas has a lifting effect on the raisins.
